"I chose Los Andes University because it has an agreement with my faculty and I am going to be able to homologate my classes. I also chose in order to learn Spanish."

Culture

The University cultural diary includes regular programs of cinema, story-telling, concerts and exhibitions and special events such as receptions or tributes to distinguished personages, and a presentation of theatrical and contemporary dance. There are also contests for story-telling and poetry.

Special mention should be made of the Culture Center, which has been working since 1998, and has acquired great acceptance among students due to the excellent quality of programming which is offered. Also, on Thursdays, there is the opportunity to appreciate the work of students taking part in this artistic movement, which the University has constantly encouraged. Also, the work of artists and photographers is permanently on show in the El Galpon exhibition rooms. On Thursday noon there are regular classical jazz, classical music and electronic music concerts in the Lleras Auditorium. We should also mention the open-air concerts in which university groups or special guest groups offer performances.

We also organize a number of events to promote the sense of belonging in the University, and to provide opportunities for showing in situations other than a strictly academic or employment context.

La Linterna Mágica Cine Club
See the best of the world’s wide-screen productions on Fridays in the Lleras Auditorium at 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm.

Concerts
Enjoy classical and electro-acoustic, jazz and blues concerts every Thursday at 1 pm in the Lleras Auditorium, and on Tuesday night do not miss the rock concerts in the Lleras Plaza at 1 pm.

Story-telling
Every Thursday at 1 pm, you can hear the best of University story-tellers in the R Block Plaza, next to the OMA café stand.

Exhibitions
The work of a number of artists and photographers is on show throughout the semester in various different places on the campus.
