The course in IT Systems in an Organization was created to form high-level professionals with the modern concept of information systems through the integration of information technologies, the analysis of problems and the study of the latest advances in e-business and e-commerce. Users and managers are placed together, so that students of the course may lead and support work in the management, administration, coordination and execution of IT projects. Also, the course is designed to solve specific problems of Colombian companies in this area of specialists study, using the academic and research experience of the faculty teaching staff, and the professional experience of those taking part in the program.

The program is designed to disseminate and apply new information technologies and modern methods for the analysis of complex problems in an organization, seeking for a better use of statistical techniques and operational research in business administration. Finally, the intention is to deepen study in areas of Strategic Planning of Systems and Systems Project Management, in which there is a role played by technical personnel in IT area and users of the functional areas of any organization.
