The Specialized graduate in International Negotiation and Relations was created as part of the teaching activities of the Centre for International Studies (CEI), that is attached to CESI and the Department of Political Science. The program is a response to the changing national and international situation, and in particular to accelerated liberalization and internationalization of the economy, and to challenges posed by the end of the cold war, and the intensification of the process of globalization.

The central objective of this specialization is to train generations of international negotiators in Colombia, in order to consolidate our skills in dealing with other nations. The program was the first of its kind in Colombia, and is still the only one which combines aspects of negotiation with the area of international relations.

This has enabled it to maintain its multidisciplinary character in terms of students and teaching staff, as well as in theoretical content
