The University was a pioneer in the introduction of internet in Colombia. Colombia and its teachers and students were the first to be able to connect to networks such as Bitnet, and Internet from the University’s Computer Center. This pioneering work has been consolidated with constant innovation, in all matters related to new technology services.

Our web site has received recognition as the best in the educational sector in Colombia, and it offers information on our research, our faculties, our programs, and our teaching staff. In addition, the site offers some very useful services for administrative work such as on-line registration, and teaching work such as SICUA2, this for each class group on the network, and many other services for the University community, such as updated information of events, classified advertisements, electronic mail, and discussion lists.

High Speed Internet link
We now have a high speed internet link, which allows all students and employees to have access to network services, and joins us up with the rest of the academic and research community and in the rest of the world.

Local Network
We also have a local network, which interconnects buildings on the campus by fiber optics, and within each of them, there is a connection to all work stations through structured cable.

Wireless Network Service
We are the first University in Colombia to offer all its members a wireless network service for portable equipment, which require mobile connections. The network is supported by 802.11b standard, and now covers all the University.
