The University has a library system, consisting of the General Library Ramon de Zubiria, and other specialized satellite libraries, in administration, architecture, art, economic development, regional studies, law and mathematics. There are also the decentralized collection in the music room (scores), and one in Una Empresa Docente.

Further, the library system has made a series of agreements with other Colombian and foreign institutions, including the Luis Angel Arango Library- at Banco de la Republica de Colombia, the British Library- from the United Kingdom-, and the libraries at Universidad de Antioquia- Medellin- Universidad Nacional de Colombia, the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana- Bogotá-, the University of Lehigh- United States-, University of New Mexico- United States- Universidad de Campinas- Brasil-, Universidad de La Plata- Argentina-, Universidad de Navarra- Spain.

The libraries are available for consultation from Monday to Friday- 7:00 am- 7:00 pm.
And Saturday 9:00 am- 1:00 pm.

Library Resources

The library system currently has 200,000 titles in all areas of knowledge and in different presentations.

ISTEC- Liblink Library Network
Since 1996, the library system has played an active part in the Liblink project, which promotes consultation and exchange of bibliographic information between the libraries in the Iber-American consortium for education in science and technology (ISTEC.)

Administration Library
The library of the Faculty of Administration is a satellite in the University Library System, which brings together much of the collection on administrative subjects held by the University. The idea behind its creation was to encourage the use of these resources by our teaching staff and students, providing a convenient service within the faculty buildings itself.

The library has 8,646 books in its open collection, 765 in the reserve collection, and 170 in the reference collection. It also has 792 videos, and subscribed to more than 5,000 electronic publications with systems for financial information and Colombian and foreign data bases, and subscribed to 80 printed journals.

Architecture and Design Library
The architecture and design library is housed on three levels. The first is for consultation, loans and photocopies, and access to the book and library tower store. The other two floors are reading areas, with a capacity for 58 students. The library has a total of 2,746 books, 86 journal titles (31 current subscriptions), and 782 thesis records.

The Faculty has maintained its interest in keeping the collection up to date and its budget contains a specific section for the acquisition of bibliographic material. There is also a program for donations and exchanges with other centers of learning, and private organizations and individuals. A major effort has also been made to make the bibliographies included in academic programs to be available in the library.

The Art Library
The art library is to be found in Bloque TX.

The Economic Library (CEDE)
This library provides available information with regard to areas such as economics, macroeconomics, demography, politics, and monetary theory, finances, social and economic appraisal projects, and foreign trade.

The library is located in Block F, and may be reached through the economic faculty, or behind the engineering plaza (W Block.)

The Law Library
Covers areas such as law, public administration, criminology, education in law, the law of information systems, and the philosophy of law.

The library is to be found in I Block, on the south side of the University, behind N Block, the site of the central cafeteria.

Mathematics Library
The mathematics library contains information in the areas of mathematics, physics, calculus, mathematical logic, and algebra. In N Block.

CIDER Library
This covers areas such as regional planning, regional economics, regional development, public finance, and Colombian regional problems.

This is to be found in PU- Block (Casa Republicana) across the parking lot on Calle 18.
