The results of the ICFES state examination are the only criteria which we have for the admission to the University. The number of candidates accepted for each program depends on the availability of places, and the assignation gives priority for those who obtained the best results in ICFES.

Only those who wish to enter the Music Program must sit for interviews and admission examination. ICFES is an examination of general knowledge, set by the Colombian government to validate the formation which leads to the award of “academic high school” graduate.

According to Article 5 of Decree 2225-93, “persons who wish to validate the cycle of basic primary education, the cycle or years of secondary educations, and the level of years of intermediate education, and all the formation which leads to title of academic high school, may validate their studies before ICFES, by seating a single general examination with no age requirement.”

Those admitted to the University may keep their places opened for one year.

If less than two years have elapsed between presentation of ICFES exam and presentation of documents for admission to the University, the results may be used for entry to the University and delivering a copy of the results of the examination. This means, that after two years of sitting the ICFES examination, a person who wishes to enter an admission process must present the examination again.

Given the structure of ICFES, the University has not established any minimum point for an admission process. All aspiring candidates may present applications. In the case of candidates for the Music Program, a musical aptitude examination is required, and the scores obtained in ICFES are not relevant.

Anyone who has university studies of two or more semesters in another university in Colombia or abroad may request admission by external transfer.

Admission forms which do not contain complete documentation will not be considered.

University reserves the right to check the accuracy of the results of the ICFES results. If it is found that the results have been adulterated, the procedures provided for in law will be followed.
